Pilot Session at HfM Freiburg
From April 11th to 18th, 2026, Musethica’s first pilot session, in cooperation with the University of Music Freiburg, took place across the city of Freiburg, Germany.
Working alongside and under the guidance of Prof. Muriel Cantoreggi (violin) and Avri Levitan (viola) the session brought together four talented musicians: Seungjun Song (violin), Shuyi Danneil (violin), Rodolfo Bignone (viola), and Szymon Strusiński (violoncello).
Over the course of six days, they gave ten concerts in a wide range of social institutions across Freiburg. These included performances at the JVA Freiburg (correctional facility), the Janusz-Korczak School for children with physical impairments, the Katharinenstift for elderly people, including those living with dementia, and numerous other venues. In addition, a public concert took place in the Chamber Music Hall of the University of Music Freiburg on Saturday, April 18th.
The ensemble performed works by Zoltán Kodály (Serenade for Two Violins and Viola, op. 12), J. S. Bach (Trio Sonata No. 2 in C minor, BWV 526, arranged in G minor for two violas and cello), and Johannes Brahms (String Quintet No. 2 in G major, op. 111), as well as virtuosic solo repertoire for the individual instruments.
During the week, the musicians reached an audience of more than 400 listeners.
The session was organized as part of the initiative 1000+ Concerts, co-funded by the European Union, and was generously supported by the Deutsche Bank Stiftung and the Neumayer Stiftung.
