Suyeon Kang
Korean-Australian violinist Suyeon Kang has been based in Europe since 2007 and enjoys a versatile musical life. Multiple international prize winner (Yehudi Menuhin, Michael Hill, Bayreuth, etc) and previous Australian Young Performer of the Year, she is recognized for her musical intellect across various genres as well as her sensitive and compelling interpretations. She is a founding member of the Trio Boccherini (string trio) and in 2023 was appointed the newest member of the acclaimed Belcea Quartet, with whom she performs regularly at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall, Toppan Hall, Wigmore Hall, Philharmonie de Paris etc.
Suyeon served previously Concertmaster of the Kammerakademie Potsdam and Camerata Bern, and has curated several programs as play/direct leader with several leading chamber orchestras in Europe and Asia.
She is on the violin faculty at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and in 2025 was appointed Professor of Chamber Music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
