A.V. Nezhdanova Odesa National Academy of Music in Warsaw

This year's seventh edition of Musethica marked a significant collaboration between Sinfonia Varsovia and the A.V. Nezhdanova Odesa National Academy of Music. Young musicians from Ukraine joined participants and alumni of the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy to form an international chamber ensemble led by violist Katarzyna Budnik, principal violist of Sinfonia Varsovia.

Held from April 12th to 19th, 2026, the project brought 11 concerts of classical music to hospitals, special education schools, care homes, and support centres across Warsaw, offering live performances in places where such concerts are rarely accessible. Perhaps the most moving experience for everyone involved was the concert at the Senior Musicians' Home, where the meeting between the young musicians and the residents became a unique example of intergenerational dialogue through music.

Alongside these performances, the young musicians participated in an intensive chamber music programme focused on artistic development under the guidance of experienced tutors. The musicians:

Nazar Plyska, violin (alum)*
Kirill-Oleksandr Benderov, violin**
Katarzyna Budnik, viola (tutor)
Emanuel Ogrodniczek, viola*
Olena Bazan, viola (guest musician)**
Edyta Matonóg-Kulak, violoncello*
Nazarii Varyvoda, violoncello**

* Sinfonia Varsovia Academy
** A.V. Nezhdanova Odesa National Academy of Music

The ensemble performed a programme featuring chamber works by Johannes Brahms, Ernő Dohnányi, Zoltán Kodály, Myroslav Skoryk, and Mykola Lysenko, highlighting both Central European and Ukrainian musical heritage.

The community concert series concluded with a public final performance on April 19th at Nowa Miodowa – the Concert Hall of the State Music School Complex No. 1 in Warsaw. Earlier in the week, the ensemble also gave a free public concert at the Mała Sicilia di Stefano Terazzino café.
