1000+ Concerts: Project Year Two Complete

Halfway there: with the 501st concert now completed, the initiative “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion” has officially reached the halfway point toward the goal of presenting more than 1,000 concerts over the course of the project.

Over the second project year, the partners across Europe brought young musicians and chamber music to audiences in places where live music is often least expected. Along the way, 93 young musicians took part in Musethica Sessions and Chamber Music Festivals, learning and performing with the guidance of 19 dedicated tutors.

In Year Two, the partners presented more than 200 concerts in social institutions, as well as a series of public concerts, reaching more than 12,000 people across Europe. Behind these figures are hundreds of encounters with diverse audiences, showing how live chamber music can become part of everyday life in settings far beyond the traditional concert hall.

With 500 concerts successfully completed, Project Year Three is now underway, with the concert calendaralready filling up for the year ahead.

The numbers line up elsewhere too: The halfway milestone extends to our video platform, with 40 concert videos now available from the planned collection of 80.

At the heart of 1000+ Concert is Musethica’s distinctive training model: through intensive sessions with renowned tutors, participants prepare demanding chamber music programmes before taking them to audiences in a series of performances across social institutions and, at the end of each session, established concert venues.
