Community Concerts at Autumn Edition of Zeist Music Days

The Zeister Muziekdagen festival hosted a Musethica week from November 15th to 23rd. During this one week of concerts and coaching, tutor by Avri Levitan (viola) works with the Hikari Quartett: Magdalena Riedl (violin), Maximilian Beer (violin), Christian Wrona (viola), and Serena Fantini (violoncello).

Together, they performed works by Joseph Haydn (String Quartet in C major op. 33 no. 3, Hob. III:39 "The Bird"), Dmitri Shostakovich (String Quartet no. 7 in F-sharp minor op. 108), and Antonín Dvořák (String Quintet in E-flat major op. 97).

While the week concluded with the Autumn Concert on November 21st, held in the Main Church Hall of the Evangelical Brotherhood Community in Zeist, most of the week’s concerts took place outside traditional concert halls:

The musicians performed at various venues, including De Stuifheuvel Special Education School, correctional facility Zeist, Recovery Center Aarsenburg, senior living community Huize Hoog Kerckebosch, a shelter for displaced individuals ASZ Soesterberg, and the psychiatric unit at Van den Hoeven Kliniek, bringing music to audiences who would otherwise not have had access to such performances.

The next Musethica Session in Zeist is scheduled for spring 2026. These sessions, held biannually in spring and fall, are part of 1000+ Concerts, which brings classical music to diverse and underserved communities across Europe.
