Seminar “The Art of Practicing” in Warsaw

Exploring the Art of Practice: Seminar with Avri Levitan and Yamen Saadi on May 20th, 2025

Sinfonia Varsovia is hosting a seminar on The Art of Practicing on Tuesday, May 20th, at 11:00am at the Nowa Miodowa Concert Hall in Warsaw, Poland. Led by renowned violist and co-founder of the Musethica, Avri Levitan, and joined by special guest Yamen Saadi, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the event is set out to a dive into the often-overlooked skill at the core of every musician's journey: the art of practice!

Open to all, this English-language workshop is part of the events under the EU co-funded initiative “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion”.

As the Polish partner of the Musethica project for the past four years, Sinfonia Varsovia is organising The Art of Practicing  in collaboration with the State Music School Zespół Państwowych Szkół Muzycznych Nr 1 in Warsaw to bring this seminar to a wider audience: all interested young musicians, students, and educators are welcome to attend and take part.

The seminar blends lecture and interactive discussion, encouraging musicians at all levels to reflect on their own approaches to daily practice. Topics will range from technical routines to mental strategies, as well as the emotional highs and lows that often accompany the repetitive nature of practicing an instrument. Attendees will be invited to share personal insights, struggles, and strategies, making the seminar not just a lecture, but a workshop to exchange experiences.
