First Madrid Session with Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía
Musethica debuts in Madrid: from September 20th to 26th, we celebrated the first Musethica session in Madrid in collaboration with the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía. There have been a total of 11 concerts: 10 in different social centers of Madrid and one open to the public at the Sony Auditorium at the Reina Sofía School, on Friday 26th at 7 p.m., with all seats reserved in advance. The young musicians participating in this session were members of the Arriaga Quartet, students at the School: Gustavo Gil (violin), Irene Herrero (violin), Adriana Julio (viola), and Álvaro Lozano (violoncello). The session was led by tutor Avri Levitan (viola). The programme was Schumann's String Quartet No. 3 in A major, Op. 41 No. 3, and Antonín Dvořák's Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 97.
During the week, the quintet performed
two concerts at the CEPRI Day Center and Residence (dedicated to autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and sensory disorders) on Monday;
one concert at the Las Letras Day Center (mental health) and another at the LGTBIQ Senior Community Center of the December 26 Foundation on Tuesday;
two concerts for the Manos Tendidas Foundation (people with intellectual disabilities) on Wednesday;
two concerts at ASPAYM Madrid (Association of People with Spinal Cord Injuries and Other Physical Disabilities in the Community of Madrid) on Thursday;
and the last two concerts were held at the CEIP República del Uruguay on Friday.
In addition, on Tuesday afternoon, the 23rd, the seminar The Art of Practicing was given by Avri Levitan at the Reina Sofía, with high participation from the school's students.
