Musethica Session Featured on rbb

As the summer break approaches and we reflect on what an eventful spring season it has been, here’s a special highlight: the session led by Nils Mönkemeyer in April in Berlin was accompanied by a film crew from the German news channel rbb. The result is a wonderfully insightful feature, now available to watch in the programme’s media library (ARD).

The TV report by Beate Bossdorf sheds light on how Musethica is a project that brings music to places often overlooked by the public. Music students and tutors from Higher Music Education Institutions give concerts during one-week long sessions at social institutions, where people affected by rough living circumstances, marginalisation or social exclusion live or gather.

Featuring violist Nils Mönkemeyer and his talented students from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, this feature highlights how Musethica is both part of their training and a deeply formative experience. What matters most in these performances isn’t perfection, but connection.
