Saida Bar-Lev

Saida Bar-Lev, violinist, was born in Switzerland. She began studying the violin at the age of eight with Magarita Karafilova and in 1988 won the first prize in a young musicians’ competition in Lausanne. She performed as a soloist with orchestras in Switzerland including the Swiss Italian Radio Orchestra and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. In 1990 she immigrated to Israel and continued her studies here with Chaim Taub. She joined the first violin section of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in 1990. In Israel she performed as a soloist with the Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra and the Tel Aviv University Orchestra and participated in many chamber concerts with members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She performed in may recitals in Switzerland and Germany with her father, pianist Assaf Bar-Lev.
